I am loving our new computer. I know there have been a lot of negative things said about Vista, but we like it just fine. We wish our computer hadn’t crashed in the first place, but we are happy with our new purchase.
I can’t even think of what things I might have to report from the last couple of weeks. I guess the big things are that Megan and I caught colds again, and we had a pretty scary situation with Megan after she fell off a chair and hit her head on the wall.
So Megan really enjoys playing the piano. I don’t let her stand on the piano bench, but she does stand on a chair which is pretty close to the ground. Last week she was playing the piano and standing on the chair. Adam was on the couch grading papers, and I was in the kitchen cooking dinner. I heard a big “thud” and whipped around to see Megan laying on the ground with her head against the wall. I RAN over to her and she immediately started crying. She was so upset that she did the “cry, but no sound comes out” thing and stopped breathing. I kept saying “breathe, Megan, breathe,” but she just didn’t want to. After what seemed like 10 seconds, her eyes rolled back into her head and she went limp. I panicked and yelled: “wake up Megan!” She woke up immediately.
At this point, Adam was already on the phone with 911 – amidst my panic I had told him to call. I was afraid Megan had a concussion or something (I was also reminded of when my nephew Bradley had a seizure and it felt all too similar so I didn’t want to take any chances). After she woke up; she started screaming at the top of her lungs. Adam told 911 that we didn’t need an ambulance, but we would like to talk to a “non emergency” operator to ask some advice about a possible concussion. The nurse asked Adam right away if Megan stopped breathing after she hit her head and said that was the reason she passed out. She said if that ever happens again to just blow air in her face. I guess a lot of people already know this, but I had never heard that before. I was still worried about a concussion, so I kept Megan up about an hour and half later than usual since this happened close to bedtime. Everything turned out okay in the end. It was just scary at the time. She ended up without a bump or a bruise. I guess she just got the wind knocked out of her.
Resting with mommy after the drama
Anyway, so that’s the exciting story from the last two weeks. This blog would end up way too long if I went on about all the other details from the last couple of weeks. Be sure to check out picasa for photo updates.

That story about Megan sounds scary.
I’m happy to hear that everything turned out ok.
I like Window’s Vista too.
Though I am use to our older computer’s programs for our picture uploads and scanning so I get confused when it comes to those things.
I got to your site from a google search on the whole passing out from not breathing after an injury.
The identical thing happened to us today! Anyway, I’m glad to know it’s not some sort of weird freak thing and there are other people out there that had this happen.
Scariest thing, isn’t it?
Thanks for posting! You further eased my mind
Oh my goodness! I’m sure glad that she is okay. Hope everything else is going well. Talk to you soon!
