Today marks the official one year mark of our move to Iowa. It’s hard to believe that a whole year has passed. In many ways, I still feel like a newcomer to Ames. We have grown to really like it here, and we have made a lot of good friendships. One hard thing about Ames is that it is very transitional. People move in and out ALL THE TIME. In the next month, 4 couples that we have become friends with are moving out. It makes it very hard to have the motivation to start new relationships when you know it will only be for a short while.
We really don’t know how long we will be here. It could be anywhere from 1.5 more years (when Adam finishes his Master’s) to 4 more years when he finishes his PhD. We just don’t know at this point. For now, we are just enjoying this adventure. I don’t think I would go as far as to say that I absolutely “love” Iowa, but I am enjoying our time here. I feel about the same way about Ames as I did about Provo. I do LOVE Vegas, but likely we won’t end up there. An astrophysicist has to live somewhere where he can actually SEE the sky!
Anyway, we’ve had a really good year. We have been blessed and we are excited about what this next year has in store.
Megan today:

We really do miss you guys in Vegas, but i guess we all have you guys on xbox. and Megan i think gets cuter every day.
ps did you guys know Mrs. B is finally die… i mean retiring?
we had 32 familys move out! we win!
Cute post. Cute girl. Cute shirt.
It is hard to lose good friends, especially when you live away from family. Knowing you and Adam, you will meet new friends soon! Megan is so big!
