On Tuesday, we took Megan to “Reiman Gardens” here in Ames. Reiman Gardens is on ISU campus, and it has a dozen different garden areas, an indoor conservatory and an indoor butterfly “wing”.
Megan had a great time running around outside. She also liked being in the butterfly enclosure, but didn’t like that she couldn’t run around freely because you have to be careful not to step on any butterflies (there were butterflies from 6 continents, and I can’t remember how many 100’s of butterflies they said they had). They also had butterfly emergence cases where you could watch the butterflies emerge from their cocoons.
We had been wanting to visit the Gardens for a while, and we couldn’t have picked a better day. We had a great time and the weather was wonderful. Megan wanted to jump in the lake so badly. Fortunately, she doesn’t always get her way!
Below are the pictures we took. If you want to look through them, just click the first one and go from there.
