For the first time in our married life, Adam and I spent the 4th of July in Provo. We decided to hit up the Provo Parade first thing in the morning (Adam went around 5:30am to get a spot for us.) I had heard that the parade was just amazing and that it would be well worth it to attend. Well, in my opinion, it was just ok. The kids were not super enthralled and all of us would have happily left before it was over. It was a fun experience and there were moments when the girls super enjoyed it. We’ll just have to see if it makes it into our plans next year.
After the parade we went home and had lunch and did Pop-Its. The girls LOVED the pop-its.
Later we enjoyed some sparklers and some red, white, and blue snow-cones. I also made a jello flag.
After dinner of hamburgers, we went to the top of a nearby building to watch the fireworks. The girls were tired and the fireworks started late, so by the time things got started, we were all super exhausted.
You all know that Megan is the most avid reader of my blog and for her sake I have to keep things upbeat. I’ll just say we had a fun day, but it was long and overwhelming for some. The important thing is why we celebrated. We are so grateful to be citizens of this wonderful country. We LOVE America.
