Alec is 6 months old! He is so sweet and cute and fun. We just love our little guy!

At his 6 month appointment, he weighed in at 17 pounds 3 ounces and was 27 inches tall. So he is just about average for weight and a little on the taller side. I thought for sure that by 6 months he would be crawling on all fours, but he is just army crawling his way all over the place. Right on his six month day, he was getting up on all fours from time to time, but he resorts to belly crawl and he is faaaaast. He just crawls around from one room to another. He’s super cute. I love how they just figure out how to do things on their own.

We started solid foods with Alec on the day he turned 6 months. He didn’t care for it too much. He reaches and flails and screeches for our food, but doesn’t care much for the baby stuff. I keep telling him he’ll be eating the rest before he knows it, but he doesn’t seem to be buying it.

He is still a great sleeper at night. He goes to bed around 8:00 and wakes at 5am to eat and then back to sleep until about 7:30. I am finding that I am rocking him or nursing him to sleep more often than last month, but he will still often put himself to sleep on his own. I worry that him doing so will become more and more infrequent as his nap schedule changes and I’m trying to figure it all out (I feel like I sometimes wait until he is overly tired or lay him down before he is tired enough and that leads to him fussing and I respond by rocking or nursing.) I hope I don’t ruin the good thing we have going! I’ll do whatever he needs but just want what’s best for him.

Overall Alec is just the sweetest boy. He smiles and giggles often and it takes a lot to get tears from him. Just a few days after he turned six months, he sprouted two more teeth (within hours of each other and with little indication they were coming!) so his tooth count is up to four. Six months have come and gone and they have been simply wonderful.
