We signed Megan up for Spring Soccer not really sure how she would take to it. After the first few games, we were kind of feeling like soccer wasn’t for her. Then one game she made a couple really good plays, and that was all the confidence she needed. After that, she was a star! She realized “hey! I can do this!” And now we have the feeling that soccer is the perfect fit for her!
Megan has been asking me for weeks to blog about all her soccer games. I hope I can do her justice! Her first game was on baby brother’s first birthday. It was COLD. And wet. But such a fun experience. When we arrived, the representative for Provo Parks and Recs was desperate for one of the parents to volunteer to coach the team. As parent after parent said no, I agreed to do it. I have never played soccer and I knew zero rules, and I would be at many games with all three children by myself, but still…I was happy to do it. I think in the end it was a tender mercy for Megan to have her mom be her coach for her first soccer experience. I would not hesitate to do it again.
Game 1 3/26:

Megan was a pretty good little goalie. She blocked several attempts, and then finally got scored upon. She was so sad. Her teammates ran to her quick style and cheered her right up!
Game one was our biggest loss. I can’t remember the score…but it was a lot to nothing.
Game 2 3/29:
Game two was less of a loss. Another parent volunteered to help me coach (halleluiah!) Megan grew more confident!
Game 3 4/2:
Game three was also cold and wet. We thought for sure it would be cancelled. NOPE!
Game 4 4/16:
BTW, the pictures in this post are all taken with my iPhone so they are not the best. And it was hard to take pictures and coach!
Alec showing off HIS soccer skills. Only 12 months old!
Game 5 4/19:
This was the game where Megan really started to shine and realized she could get in there and get things done! The other team seemed to realize it too!
Game 6 4/23:
Cold and snowy! Megan did awesome even though mom didn’t bring her a jacket. 😦
Game 7 4/26:
It was raining so hard this game! We quickly learned that they aren’t quick to cancel games! The girls were cold and wet but still tried so hard!
Game 8 4/30:
Last game!
I am so proud of Megan and her hard work and endurance. She tried so hard and gave it her all. Great job Megan!
